Our Story

Cotswold Hose & Fittings has two things at its heart: family and expertise. What began as two experts with niche knowledge about the challenges facing the hydraulics, aquatics and pneumatics industries has grown to a thriving team of five with over 6,000 specialist hoses, parts and fittings kept in stock.

The business was established in 2001 in Chelworth, near Malmesbury, by Ian Lennie. Having started in the industry back in the 1970s, Ian was well known throughout Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and the South West for his technical expertise and troubleshooting ability.

By 2010, the business was thriving and Ian needed support. Ever family-minded, he recruited his son-in-law, Jan Smidt, who quickly learned the ropes from the best in the business.

Meanwhile, Ian’s stepdaughter Debs was working as an administrator for a global ink company and looking for a new challenge. It was time for Debs to join the family business.

In 2012, we lost Ian – and with him, a lifetime of knowledge – but his legacy lives on through Debs, Jan and the team.

In 2017, we moved from Chelworth to our current site in Love Lane Industrial Estate, Cirencester, Gloucestershire. Today, our customers – and even our competitors – pop by with parts for repair or replacement, or for advice on the hoses and fittings they need to complete their job.
